What Can You Do?

What can you do? I don’t normally go around telling people I can wiggle my ears, but it came up in conversation over dinner one evening; I don’t remember how, perhaps an involuntary wiggle. My friend Daniel was impressed. He told me he has heard that only 8% or 2% of people can do that.

He is one of those people who has to look up everything he isn’t sure about and later that night, he emailed: okay. it is 20 percent of the population. but, you are one of only three that i ever saw who could wiggle both ears. http://ask.metafilter.com/52334/What-percentage-of-people-can-wiggle-their-ears

I told him I can also tie a knot in a cherry stem with my tongue. And then I showed him these huge lumps on the floor of my mouth that I was born with.

I once had a boyfriend who had a bit of a tail . . . or shall we say a prominent tailbone.

There is the German boyfriend who lives in Paris who writes Japanese poetry while riding the Metro.

Hm, I’m sure my female friends possess unique skills, but I can’t think of any. (One or more of my daughters has informed me that “girlfriends,” in their parlance, implies a romantic relationship.) Speaking of my daughters, one once memorized pi out to an absurd number of decimal places. Another is a self-taught gourmet cook in her spare time. And the third has been a contestant on “Survivor” twice. About my kids, of course, forgive me; I could go on.

Back to another beau, who could say words backwards and so can I, except someone once stumped me in the Say This Backwards game with “onomatopoeia.” Can you figure out exactly why this was harder than, say, saying “antidisestablishmentarianism” backwards (which admittedly I practiced a few times before I could nail it as readily as I can tell you that mamahuhu is Mandarin for so-so)?

The reason I am reporting all this is so that, if you don’t feel like going back to work yet, you will tell me what YOU can do, Punchinella Little Fella.
